In fact, Total Commander’s simplified interface makes moving through directories so fast that when I want to save a file in another program, I often switch to Total Commander, quickly move to where I want to save it, copy the path, and paste it into the application’s File Save dialog. I always go straight to a file when I need it. This replacement for Windows Explorer is the only window that is always open on my desktop.

I’ve been using Total Commander since it was still called Windows Commander (before Microsoft’s legal team told the developer to change the name).
